Bicycle Music Festival report!
The Bicycle Music Festival this weekend was amazing! Thank you to BMF for inviting us, Rock the Bike for providing the sound system (and the stickers – “Art Cars Are Still Cars,” waaaa ha ha ha!), Lisa Ruth for DJing our set, Dan for pedaling, and our He-railleur contingent for beer and support. (What’s a good word for lady He-railleurs? Like, girls who come out and support but don’t dance? Cos we have a lot of them too, even if we do keep trying to recruit them all to be full-on Agents.)
A dirty dozen Derailleurs performed “Door’d,” “Flat Tire,” “Helmet On,” “It’s Bitchin'” and – world premiere! more than a year in the making! – “Ridin’ My Bike,” and we popped a few performance cherries too. We’ve had a turquoise tidal wave of new dancers since our spring tour – say hello to Agent Dak, Agent Bam Bam, Agent Free Radical, Agent Slaughter, Agent Ready and Agent Hazmat! We danced in the rays of the setting sun, and darkness found us in the pit for The Nerv, and getting down and dirty to The Get Back (who covered Ginuwine’s “Pony”!!! just for us?). We got all sentimental, as usual, and felt full of bike love for everybody and everything around us. Awwwwwwwwwwww.
We had a ton of fantastic paparazzi documenting our every move – stay tuned for more film and photos than you can shake a stick at! Here’s a sneak preview of “Door’d,” “Flat Tire” and “Ridin’ My Bike”:
Many Agents are on secret traveling missions throughout August, but never fear: we will be using the next few quiet weeks to polish up our plans for world domination and then we will NEVER LEAVE YOU AGAIN! Promise. We’re already booking shows for September, October and November. We love you. We’ll see you so soon.
